Puerto Rico

PR is the birth place of world-renowned things like salsa dancing, mofongo, reggaeton, piña coladas and despacito. Known as the rum capital of the universe, it is also home to the only tropical rain forest in the American parks system.
Though the island has suffered much in the past few years, its people have an abiding strength and compassion you would be hard-pressed to find on the main land. Be open to this experience, expect it to be nothing like home, and you will finish your travels changed for the better. If you're really lucky, the island will enchant you to stay.
